Chris von Christierson, a South African who has been resident in the UK since 1991, brings over 40 years’ international experience in exploration, mining and management of resource companies.
Formerly Founder and Chairman of Rio Narcea Gold Mines Ltd, Chris successfully oversaw three mines from early pre-development through to production, including the Aguablanca nickel mine in Southern Spain and the Tasiast gold mine in Mauritania.
He has also overseen major new mining projects into production as CEO of East Daggafontein Mines Ltd, as a Director of Gold Fields Ltd, Chairman of Golden Shamrock Mines Ltd and Director and Co-Founder of Sedibelo Platinum Mines Ltd. Chris was instrumental in the establishment of the Exploration Sector on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in the 1980s.
He is currently a director of the Southern Prospecting Group of Companies, having served in this position since 1980.
